Maats x ICC Local Loops: Hamburg (Germany)
While the Maats crew is off to the Pas Normal Brand Summit in Copenhagen, we’re rolling out our Sprinter into Germany again. And like last year, we're hosting a ride in Hamburg, as part of the Maats Local Loops concept!
For this Germany trip, we’re teaming up with a great bunch of friends from the International Cycling Club by Pas Normal Studios. Including photographer and Pas Normal Studios ambassador, Rik de Voogd
The ride from Hamburg takes place on Wednesday, June 4, and we’ll ride from Hamburg alongside fellow Pas Normal ambassador Sebastian Friedrich.

At the end of August 2019, together with our neighbors from Leeman Döner, we organized a ride that turned out to be one of the most iconic cycling events in the history of mankind: The Maats x Leeman Ride. This summer we will host already the fifth edition and we will make something special out of this anniversary edition...

To celebrate both this exciting new chapter and our long-standing collaboration with MAAP, we’re inviting you to join us for a special social ride on Sunday, 31 August.
We’ll kick off the day with specialty coffee at Maats Rotterdam (Hoogstraat 56A) before rolling out for a 100 km group ride through the region. Halfway the ride, the Maats and/or MAAP Van will await you to replenish your energy with sweets, snacks, drinks and water taps to refuel your bottles.
After the ride, it's time to relax and hang out with each other while enjoying a beer or a soda. We’re opening up this event to 100 riders only, so make sure to register in time. See form below.

Saturday July 6th, Maats Utrecht
This summer, Maats proudly joins forces with Maartje Maria, Utrecht's most coveted cycling, triathlon and food influencer, and organizes a Women's Ride. We invite everyone on this ride to discover Utrecht's finest roads curated by Maartje Maria. This ride is suitable for all levels - from beginners to more experienced riders. Contact Maats (chatbox) or Maartje (Instagram DM) if you would like to know more about the ride/level.

Maats x Maartje Women's Checkpoint Challenge
After the previous successes of both the Maats Checkpoint Challenge and the Maats x Maartje Women’s ride, we once again join forces and organise a Women’s Only challenge targeting various levels in one cool concept: a Checkpoint Challenge!
The Maats x Maartje Checkpoint Challenge is not about physical strength on your bike, but is also all about planning, route skills and teamwork. There’s no fixed route, just 5 checkpoints (CPs) that you will need to connect to create the most efficient (or fun) route possible.
Two out of five CPs are mandatory, the other three are optional. So it’s up to you to decide how long your route will be. If you want to check off all CPs, expect to ride up to 200km. The shortest route along both mandatory CPs will be around 100km. We advise to do this challenge together in a team of two, but going solo is also possible.
We will draw up a classification at the finish. The team that checks off all checkpoints and does so in the shortest amount of time wins the challenge. Don't feel like racing? No worries, you can challenge yourself with a preferred distance at your own pace.

- Both mandatory CPs (Maats’ Sprinter & Maartje’s Ironvan) will provide food and drinks, but bring enough food yourself for during your ride
- You have to be back at the finish before 18:00 (cut-off time)
- We’ll share the CPs a week before the event so you can start planning your route in advance
- On Tuesday night at 20:00h there will be a live Q&A with Maartje where you can ask all your questions about route planning, nutrition for a long day and more.
- Teams of two riders, but solo is also possible.
- Team ticket price €60 (€30 pp) - please sign up individually per person and indicate your intended teammate in the order comments.
- Don’t have a team? Sign up by yourself and find yourself a partner in crime during the live Q&A (and/or per request to the organising crew).
- Included: coffee before the start, food and drinks at both CPs, drinks and snacks afterwards at the finish.

Man Met Bril x Maats Seasonal Ride: Summer Vibes
From the minute Maats opened its doors in Rotterdam, Man Met Brill koffie supports us with its outstanding, and arguably the finest coffee on the market. Home to the city of Rotterdam, Man Met Bril Koffie is a renowned specialty coffee roastery with a café and since February: a hotel! (fun fact: it is the first coffee focused hotel in the world).
Over the years, the brand has become a favorite among coffee lovers in the region, not only for its excellent brews but also for its stylish, industrial-style café and its community-oriented philosophy. A philosophy Maats fully supports, which is why we want to combine our communities with a nice and easy bike ride and lunch afterwards!
At the start of each new season, Man Met Bril and Maats are hosting a bike ride to ride into the new season with our communities. We start at Maats Rotterdam for an almost perfectly brewed Man Met Bril coffee and end the ride at the brand new hotel of Man Met Bril for a special lunch with an even better coffee, this time from trained baristas ;-).

Midsummer Challenge 2024
Friday 21 June 2024
Starting Point: Amsterdam, Utrecht or Zwolle
Maats and Pas Normal Studios would like to invite you to complete the Midsummer Challenge on the longest day of the year: Friday June 21st. We are challenging everyone to ride 200km+ in one go - come join us for a long epic day in the saddle.
The concept is simple: we will take full advantage of the longest day of the year and ride a longer route of no less than 235km. You can choose to start either from our store in Amsterdam, Utrecht or from Ride Fast Bikeshop (our newest shop-in-shop location near Zwolle).
We are organizing the event in cooperation with our premium brand Pas Normal Studios. Brand ambassador Rik de Voogd will join us on the ride from Amsterdam.
All groups ride the same route and have at least two stops. The group that departs from Maats Utrecht, stops in Zwolle and Amsterdam and finishes again in Utrecht. Riders from Amsterdam first go to Utrecht, then Zwolle. During the instore breaks we'll provide food, snacks and drinks. Upon your return, cold beers will be waiting at the finish line.

Midsummer Weekend 2025: Challenge
For several years now, we've been teaming up with the International Cycling Club (ICC) from Pas Normal Studios. The concept is simple: a long day on the bike around the longest day of the year, June 21st.
This year, we're taking things to the next level with a full weekend experience. Jimbo and Andreas from PNS will be bringing the ICC bus to the Netherlands for a weekend packed with rides and challenges.
On Saturday, June 28th, we’ll depart from Maats Amsterdam for a 265-kilometer ride towards Arnhem, with a stop in Utrecht to pick up a crew there. Support will be provided along the way from the PNS van. It’s going to be a long but unforgettable day on the bike! Starting available in AMS- and UTR store.

This year, we're taking things to the next level with a full weekend experience. Jimbo and Andreas from PNS will be bringing the ICC bus to the Netherlands for a weekend packed with rides and challenges.
On Friday, June 27th, we’ll kick off the weekend with a Friday evening ride from our Rotterdam store, covering approximately 60 kilometers. After the ride, we’ll return to the store for cold drinks and burgers.
