Ultra Talks
Thursday 23-Jan, 18:30h
Twijnstraat 7, Utrecht
Organised by Utrecht Ultra, this night is all about long distances! They’ve invited three experienced ultra-distance cyclists to share their stories and lessons from the (off-)road. Ins and outs, highs and lows, the fun, the pain, and everything in between—you’ll hear it all at Ultra Talks!
The night is hosted by Ruben Platte, organiser of Utrecht Ultra and finisher at Three Peaks Bike Race and the Trans Pyrenees Race.
We end the night with a Q&A, so you’ll be able to ask all the things you’ve always wanted to know about riding ultras. Included in the fee are two delicious beers from De Kromme Haring (non-alcoholic available).Maats Utrecht: Gravel Rides
Once a month AW24/25
Twijnstraat 7, Utrecht
As the cooler months approach, we're excited to host gravel rides starting from our store in Utrecht. There's nothing we love more than heading out with a great group to explore scenic routes and hidden trails. To ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience, participation is limited. With a maximum of 25 riders, we keep things intimate by riding in small groups of 5-6 people. Each ride starts and finishes at Maats Utrecht.

Maats Social Rides adhere to a no-drop policy in case of technical problems or certain traffic conditions. We assume a certain level of cycling experience/fitness so if you’re unable to hold the minimum target average speed, we may have to consider splitting you from the group so you can continue riding by yourself at your own comfortable speed. Of course, we will discuss this with you whenever the situation occurs. Furthermore, during our rides, some segments inevitably result in a little interval sprint, which is fine, but please wait and regroup at the logical end of the segment.
Participation in Maats rides automatically means you assume full responsibility for your own and/or others' costs/damages. When signing up, you agree to our Terms & Conditions (which you can check here). Any last-minute joiners will be asked to confirm this by placing a signature before departure, if you did not agree to it yet when signing up. A helmet & click pedals are mandatory. Fixies, bikes without brakes, tour bikes, aero bikes, and mounted aero bars are not allowed for Maats rides. For road cycling rides, we also do not allow mountain bikes. We adhere to the Dutch traffic rules, and assume that you have experience with group riding customs.
