Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

  • Online purchases: You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to register a return or exchange.

  • In-store purchases: Items bought in our stores can be returned or exchanged within 14 days with a valid receipt.

  • Condition: Items must be returned in new, unused, and unwashed condition, in their original packaging, and with all tags attached.

How can I return or exchange my items?

Option 1: Drop by a Maats Store (Free)

Bring your items to our Amsterdam, Utrecht, or Rotterdam stores. We can process your refund immediately, or help you find the right size or style for a direct exchange.

Option 2: Return by Post

If you can’t make it to a store, you can ship the items back to us at your own expense. If you are exchanging for a different size or color, we will ship the new item to you for free (EU VAT region only, and within reason).

  1. Pack the products carefully in their original packaging.

  2. Fill out the included return form, indicate if you want a refund or an exchange (specify size/color), and place it inside the package.

  3. Ship the package via your local postal or courier service to:

  • Tip: Keep your tracking number safe. If your courier allows it, enter hello@maats.cc as the recipient email address so we can track the delivery. You remain responsible for the shipment until it safely reaches our warehouse.

Important for returns from outside the EU VAT territory:

If you are returning items from outside the EU, you must ensure that Maats does not incur import duties to receive the package back into the Netherlands.

  • Mark the package clearly as a "Return of Goods" on the customs declaration form.

  • Ensure all duties/fees are prepaid upfront.

  • Please note: Any import duties or clearance fees charged to Maats upon arrival will be deducted from your final refund.

When will I receive my refund or exchange?

  • Exchanges: We will ship your new exchange items as soon as we receive and process your return package.

  • Refunds: We will refund the purchase amount of the returned items to your original payment method within 1-2 business days of receiving your package. Please allow up to 7 business days for the amount to appear back on your end. For in-store returns, you can also opt for a store gift card.
