In early summer 2023 we have released a special celebration Festive collection for our fives years anniversary. The design of this artwork is based on our Amsterdam store and community. We soon received slightly jealous, dissapointed and indignant questions from our Utrecht community about an variant for their store. Good news, the wait is over.

For these t-shirts we have joined forces again with creative designer and avid cyclist Roel van Eekelen. Roel created an illustration for us with different topics that represent Maats, such as: rides, community, coffee, clubhouse and pizza. For this special T-shirt Roel used the orginal design and updated it with some Utrecht influences such as, Broodje Mario, de Domtoren and the boat tours on the canals close to our shop.

Our home brand, designed in The Netherlands

When Maats Cycling Culture started off, there was one clear goal: finding the coolest cycling clothing of the world, and make it available in the Netherlands and beyond. Throughout our quest, we found out that there already are many amazing brands out there, but there's still much to explore. This is why Maats decided, next to selling existing brands, to design and produce its own brand apparel as well!

Distinctive and quality-focused

In recent times, more and more riders are starting to look better on the bike. While in former times people tended to show poor taste by wearing jerseys plastered with brand names and logos from pro teams, a growing group of riders chooses to distinguish itself on the bike by wearing unique and cool cycling clothering. Quality, however, is the most important thing. That's why Maats strives to find the perfect combination of awesome designs and exquisite quality. Because we believe that this can be achieved close to home, we both design and produce our clothing in Europe.

We started Maats in 2017 and soon after our opening we released the first Amsterdam cycling jersey. This jersey is an ode to the city of Amsterdam and was an instant classic. You can no longer cycle around the Amsterdam region without coming across a Maats XXX jersey. But you can also see this jersey more and more far outside the capital.

Despite the fact that this cycling jersey has been part of our collection for a long time, we continue to develop this jersey and make a number of improvements every season.

The jersey has a sporty fit (not an extreme race fit) and the sizing is in line with the Northern European sizing.

  • Made of elastic and moisture-wicking material
  • Featuring Amsterdam’s iconic Andreas crosses (one on the chest and two on the back)
  • Elastic band with gripper
  • Three large pockets where you can store a lot of stuff for the longer rides
  • Waterproof bag for your valuables
  • Soft zipper protector on the inside of the jersey
  • Maats logo on the left sleeve
  • Designed in Amsterdam, produced in the EU.
