Maats Explorer Twente Report

Zondag 15 december vond de eerste editie van de Maats Explorer plaats. De start en finish waren in Lonneker, in de omgeving van Enschede. Meer dan 100 deelnemers waren naar Twente afgereisd voor dit nieuwe Maats event. Tijdens de Explorer series organiseren we events op uitdagende locaties door het hele land.

Het was een perfecte dag met goed weer, twee uitdagende routes en diverse stops, mogelijk gemaakt door onze eventpartners. Op deze pagina een impressie.

Maats Explorer Twente Gravel 75 km

Onze routebouwer Jan-Bert had voor de Maats Explorer Twente twee routes met zorg en uiterste precisie samengesteld. De 75 km was uitdagend en technisch met veel single tracks en bospaden. De twee stops, een voor koffie en een voor soep, waren meer dan welkom.  Voor de twijfelaars was er op circa 40 kilometer de mogelijkheid om te switchen van route.

Maats Explorer Twente Gravel 125 km

Deelnemers die gekozen hadden voor de langere afstand, reden het eerste gedeelte over dezelfde route als de kortere variant. Aan de bovenkant van de langere route zat een extra lus. Deze ging de Duitse grens over en met name de afstand in combinatie met de nattte en technische bospaden maakte deze afstand erg uitdagend.

Il Magistrale - Koffie

Onze koffieleverancier en eventpartner Il Magistrale was bij het event aanwezig als koffiestop.  De super toffe omgebouwde brandweerbus van Bas stond midden in het bos op een kleine 30 kilomter van de start. Perfecte afstand voor een hele fijne koffiestop.

Cannondale - Testbikes

Cannondale was bikepartner tijdens het Explorer event. In totaal waren er circa 20 deelnemers in de gelukkige positie om een Topstone SRAM Etap te mogen testen tijdens het event. Perfecte Weapon of Choice voor een technische en uitdagende gravelroute.

Komoot - De Route

Routebuilder Komoot was de officiële routepartner van Maats Explorer. Alle deelnemers hadden de route ontvangen via deze app en ontvingen daarnaast een code om het gebied Oost Nederland gratis te kunnen unlocken om te gebruiken tijdens het event.
