Maats Favoroutes #1
Het Kopje
You have to do your best to find appealing altitude meters around Amsterdam. The Kopje van Bloemendaal is the best option in this case. This route goes to and over this 'mythical climb' and of course ends at Maats.

Het Kopje
The route leaves Amsterdam on the west side. Via Spaarnwoude and Santpoort you arrive at the foot of the Kopje van Bloemendaal. After the descent, the route goes back to Maats via Haarlem.

Maats - Marken - Maats
The area north of Amsterdam is perhaps our favorite base. A nice ride is the tour to Marken with a visit to the lighthouse that overlooks the Markermeer.

You leave Amsterdam on the north-east side, via the Schellingwouderbrug and then cycle along the water to Marken. The way back goes via picturesque places such as Broek in Waterland and Zunderdorp.

The Castle Loop
South of Amsterdam it is beautiful to cycle. One of our favorite rides is the tour to Haarzuilens. Here you will find a medieval castle that is well worth a visit. The route goes straight through the Groene Hart.

The Castle Loop
You leave Amsterdam on the south side. The route takes you through places such as Uithoorn, Woerdense Verlaat and Kamerik to the beautiful castle in Haarzuilens. The return route goes via the Vecht to ultimately arrive back in Amsterdam.

De Hel van Noord-Holland
We have come up with our own variation on Paris-Roubaix: The Hell of North Holland. A beautiful ride through the typical Dutch landscape. We included a number of cobblestone sections in this ride. Spectacle guaranteed!

The route goes via Spaardam, where you are treated to the first 'cobblestone strips'. Via the ferry at Ijmuiden you reach the beautiful dune area of North Holland. The route runs via Alkmaar and Purmerend back to Amsterdam.

The Gravel Special
In addition to cycling on the road, at Maats we also enjoy cycling on unpaved paths. From Amsterdam, the paths around Hilversum and Het Gooi are the best options. This is our favorite gravel route. This is easy to do on a racing bike with 25mm tires or more.

The route takes you to the beautiful forest paths around Naarden as quickly as possible. You cycle back to Amsterdam via mainly unpaved paths in Hollandsche Rading and Lage Vuursche.
