Location
This is the authentic part of the city near the Oudegracht and the bustling Ledig Erf. The best way to visit Maats Utrecht is of course by bike. There is enough space inside to hang or put your bicycle.
Are you coming by public transport? Then we advise you to travel to Vaartsche Rijn railway station, from where it is just a short walk. If you come by car, it is best to park in the Twijnstraat or a little further on the Oudegracht, although you sometimes have to be lucky to find a spot. You can also choose to park in the parking garage on the Lange Nieuwstraat or Springweg - from there you walk to our store in about five minutes.
Our favourite gravel route
Roll out from the shop and head east into the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The Maats Gravel Escape Stage 2 is a 75 km gravel loop with around 250 m of climbing. Expect singletrack, forest paths and gravel strips, past Fort de Bilt and the old aircraft shelters at Soesterberg, before you finish back at our store for a coffee.
It's a tough one: about a third is singletrack, so bring good legs. Some sections change over time, so check the latest version on Komoot before you go.
