While researching plant medicines, Albert Hofmann accidentally absorbed a small amount of purified acid through his fingertips and discovered the powerful effects of LSD as he rode home on a bike. We celebrate this cultural phenomenon with our "Trace of Effect" capsule collection.

The limited Maats Trace of Effect Longsleeve Jersey is made from a MITI mid-weight 230 gr/m2 fabric, with micro-fleeced lining giving you comfort on cold days on the bike. The Italian fabric has been coated with a DWR (water-repellent coating), and is perfect to ride in temperatures from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius. Rotterdam Pizza Ride powered by Maats in collaboration with Pas Normal Studios

With the successful Grand Opening party and group ride still fresh in our minds, it's already time to bring some Maats culture to Rotterdam: the notorious Pizza Rides! For the past years, pizza rides have been a permanent event in our summer event schedule and since this will be the first edition in our new Rotterdam store, we wanted to make this a special one. 

We organize the first Rotterdam Pizza Ride in collaboration with our close friends from Pas Normal Studios. Over the years, we’ve hosted many events with Pas Normal Studios, and this time we’re bringing the community together once again for a fun and social evening on the bike, so we could celebrate the Rotterdam opening together. 

Join us for a 55 km group ride, followed by delicious pizza and ice-cold drinks to wrap up the evening in style. Since this will be the first (of many) pizza rides in Rotterdam, pizza and beers are on us!

• 18:00 gathering at Maats Rotterdam (Hoogstraat 56A)
• 18:30 departure in groups for a relaxed ride of 55km (approx 28 - 30 km/h)

Sunday Dec-8th 09:00 - Amerongen

Join us at De Proloog in Amerongen for an unforgettable day full of gravel. We’ve been cooking on three unique loops that will take you on trails you've likely never seen before. Each loop is unique and different, and you decide the order and how many loops you want to ride. All three starts and ends at our base at De Proloog. 

The event offers three loops, each approximately 50 km. You decide how many loops you want to ride—take on one, two, or all three! That means you can ride anywhere from 50 km to 150 km. It’s your day to explore at your own pace. Ride by yourself, as a team or join a group: it's all good!

Here’s the schedule for the day:

• 09:00 – Meet at De Proloog for coffee and ride briefing
• 09:30 – Roll out.
• After the ride, return to De Proloog for a well-deserved serving of local soup and bread, included in your ticket.
• 16:00 - Finish Time

What bike to bring? A gravel, CX or MTB bike is what you need. You’ll be riding a mix of gravel, sand, and pavement, so get ready for a diverse ride.

Powered by Maats & de Kromme Haring

The World Championships, along with the Tour of Lombardy, mark the end of the traditional cycling season. This year, the Worlds will take place in Zurich, Switzerland. A demanding course with significant elevation gains. The women’s race is scheduled for Saturday, followed by the men’s race on Sunday. Will Demi Vollering follow-up Lotte Kopecky, and will Mathieu van der Poel defend his title, or is Tadej Pogačar unbeatable on this challenging terrain with lots of climbing?

In collaboration with our friends from de Kromme Haring, we’re hosting an event on Sunday, September 29, dedicated to the World Championships. The day begins with coffee at Maats Utrecht and wraps up with beer and a live screening of the race on the big screen at Kromme Haring. And of course, we’ll squeeze in a bike ride in between. In true World Cup spirit, you can expect a challenging route with several circuits and plenty of climbs.
