How does it work?

We organize our socials rides for our customers and to introduce new people to Maats and the brands we sell.

During our social rides we offer you two routes: a longer route of approximately 90 km and a shorter version of approximately 65 km. On the day itself you can choose which distance you want to go ride.

Longer distances are a bit faster (30-32 km/h avg.) and this option is therefore for more advanced cyclists. The pace at the shorter distance is slightly slower (28-30 km/h avg.) and therefore more relaxed and accessible.

What is the level?

Although we love all cyclists, our rides are not for absolute beginners. If you register for our rides, we expect you to be able to ride at least 28 km/h in a group for a minimum of 2+ hours. Experience with group rides is a plus but not a requirement.

The Maats Pizza rides are back! Every other Thursday night we organise a Maats x Pizza ride in Amsterdam. We invite you to this open groupride of about 45-55k, after which you can enjoy a delicious pizza and an ice cold beer on your return.

• Approx 28 km/h avarage speed, which means riding speed between 28 and 32km/h.

The Maats Pizza rides are hot in Utrecht! Every other Thursday night we organise a Maats x Pizza ride in Utrecht. We invite you to this open group ride of about 45-55k, after which you can enjoy a delicious pizza and an ice cold beer on your return.

We'd like to introduce you to the Maats Gravel Series: a new series of gravel events with the most beautiful off-road routes in the Netherlands. From November to March, we host a monthly gravel ride in a different part of our country.

At Maats we are big fans of gravel rides. Whereas road cycling is more about speed, distance and performance, a gravel bike gives you the freedom to choose any path you encounter, making it more about exploring, adventure and fun.

In the past, riding a gravel route from our original store location in Amsterdam posed quite a challenge, and that's why we are so happy with our shop in Utrecht. Finally we have a place where you are on the first unpaved section within a few kilometers.

During the autumn and winter months, we proudly organize the Maats Off-Road Social. Because it can be busy in the surroundings of Utrecht, spots are limited: with a maximum of 25 participants, we ride in small groups of 5-6 people. Start and finish at Maats Utrecht. • Route: a mix of tarmac, fast and smooth gravel sections and some technical single tracks
