Danish Pas Normal Studios have designed this fantastic Mechanism long sleeve cycling jersey to be the ideal garment for any cyclist in a diverse range of temperatures. The stretchy material of which the cycling jersey is made is dyed, which gives it a super soft feeling on the skin. The minimalistic look has a very elegant feel and because the shirt is antibacterial treated, the shirt stays nice and fresh in the long term. We think this is a true classic that deserves a place in your cycling wardrobe. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful cycling jerseys we have ever held in our hands!

We tested this product ourselves on a bicycle trip from Barcelona to Girona and back. Both days it was 8 degrees in the morning and 17 degrees in the afternoon and we have never been too cold or too hot. Totally recommended in combination with a nice gilet that you can take off when it rises above 13 degrees. You can also roll up the flexible sleeves up to your elbow if it gets too hot.

1 vakje aan de achterkant met rits, ideaal voor de sleutels ofzo.

Updated Deep Winter styles

The Mechanism Autumn/Winter '23 collection introduces an update to the PNS Deep Winter Bib Shorts and Deep Winter Long Bibs. The articulated knee construction is refined to suit a wider range of body types and the 3-layer main fabric is updated with a more stretchable membrane, creating a highly protective product for the coldest of days.

Layer up!

Tough cookies keep on cycling in winter, also when temperatures drop to as low as below zero degrees. What to wear to keep you warm enough? Let's cut straight through to the answer: it's all about layering. With your core kept warm, you unlock the secret to riding comfortably in the harshest of weather. At Maats, we advise to adhere to ''The Three Layer Principle'', consisting of:

#1: The baselayer

This is the first and arguably most key component to keeping you warm. Various options of thermal fabrics allow you to make the right choice for the temperature you're defying that day. For instance, pick merino wool for its perfect temperature regulation capacities, or choose Polartec for state-of-the-art heat technology. Wear a snug fit to make sure the top layers won't look wrinkly.

#2: The longsleeve jersey

This middle piece may seem excessive, but let us tell you: it isn't. The longsleeve jersey is the ideal inbetween layer to add a level of temperature regulation, combined with the practical function of its pockets (as both layer #1 and #3 typically don't have these). Longsleeve jerseys come in variations from thin textiles to thermal fleece-lined fabrics. Choose what you feel aligns best with the outside temperature.

#3: The gilet or jacket

Lastly, wear a gilet or jacket over all of the above. A gilet keeps your core warm yet ventilates through your armpits, whereas a jacket's sleeves not only keep your body warmth, but also cover your arms to cold riding wind. The great thing about this third layer is that you can wear it (partly) unzipped to cool down, or get rid of it altogether during your ride. Lightweight gilets/jackets typically can be stowed easily into a back pocket of your jersey.
Now don't think this is it: treat yourself to a thermal long bib, and take care of your extremities by adding a beanie, a neck tube, gloves, thermal socks, overshoes and what not. At Maats, we have it all! ;)

The bib shorts from the Mechanism collection from Pas Normal Studios have a performance-oriented fit in combination with the highest quality fabrics and chamois.

This product has also undergone a number of upgrades compared to last year's edition. For example, the gripper is made of a refined material that subtly prevents the pants from creeping up. The elastic suspenders have also been made softer and you will hardly notice that they are around your shoulders. The soft polyester fabrics are wonderfully soft around your legs and support your muscles well so that you can perform optimally on the bike and the chamois is of an incredibly high level.

In terms of style, we think the Mechanism bib is one of the most beautiful available. The checkered pattern gives a very refined look and the quality radiates from the cycling shorts. Great bibs!

The best bibs I've had so far, for more intensive riding they work better than those from the Essentials collection, they hold the saddle great and lie very well on the body.

Geweldig

Ik reed hiervoor altijd met Assos broeken (ook aanraders), maar ik wilde eens wat anders proberen. Deze broek is echt geweldig. Fantastische pasvorm, zeem is erg comfortabel, geen vervelende naden. Bretels zijn breed, zacht en precies op de juiste lengte. Grippers van de broekspijpen zijn ook goed, de broek blijft perfect op zijn plek zitten.

Fijn om te horen dat de bib short bevalt Jeroen, succes!

Hele fijne zeem

Bij deze Maap broek is er echter een flinke uitsparing in het midden van de zeem en zo ervaar ik geen druk meer "down under" als ik diep in de beugels hang. De meeste broeken is er geen ruimte bij het peryneum met als gevolg dat ik bij dikke zemen, die comfortabeler zouden moeten zijn, toch hoe meer druk op het peryneum ervaar. Dat is met deze broek dus verleden tijd. En de blauwe kleur is prachtig
