Maats Gravel Series

The concept

The Maats Gravel Series is an off-road group ride of approx. 75-85 km with some timed segments. Most part of the ride is social pace, but some experience on gravel is recommended. Each group will consist of 6-8 people. We will gather at an outside parking spot close to the host city, which is on cycling distance from a train station. Car parking is possible too. Of course, the Maats Sprinter will be here to serve you coffee before the start.

Route & Bike choice

The routes consists of a mix of gravel roads, forest paths and some asphalt. Don't expect too many MTB trails or technical singletracks, but do prepare for a good off-road experience. Do you need a gravel bike? No, an MTB or CX bike is also fine. Roadbikes are a no-go.

Timed segments

In each edition of the Gravel Series, there will be a couple of timed Strava segments. The aim is set your individual fastest possible time on these segments. For this we will choose suitable segments in a quiet part of the route, so it will not bother other road users/forest visitors.

General Classification

After each edition we will draw up the general classification based on the results on the timed segments. There is a GC for each single stage, but also an overall classification for the whole series. Some nice prizes and eternal fame await the winners.
