The SpatzWear Aquasokz (Hi) Aero Oversocks are race-focused aerodynamic oversocks developed for speed in wet and challenging conditions. Originally created for the Alpecin-Deceuninck Pro Cycling Team, they combine a close, streamlined fit with waterproof fabric and a UCI-compliant high-cut silhouette.

The PU-coated Lycra construction is shaped to reduce aerodynamic drag while maintaining comfort when conditions deteriorate. Wind-tunnel optimisation at the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub demonstrated improved aerodynamic performance across almost all yaw angles compared with a similarly shaped product. A Kevlar-reinforced toe adds durability, while dual silicone grippers and a concealed Velcro fastening keep the oversocks securely positioned during racing.

Performance & construction
The Aquasokz (Hi) are designed primarily around aerodynamic efficiency rather than complete waterproof sealing around the shoe. Their PU-coated Lycra provides a waterproof outer surface while the close construction reduces excess material and creates a smooth profile around the shoe and lower leg.

The high-cut silhouette extends coverage while remaining within UCI regulations, making the oversocks suitable for competition as well as fast training in poor weather.

The Aquasokz have a particularly close fit around the ankle and may feel difficult to put on initially. The fabric softens slightly after several uses.

For easier fitting, roll the oversocks up the shins before putting on your cycling shoes.

Care & washing instructions
Hand wash or machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron. Air dry completely to help preserve the PU coating, grippers, and reinforced construction.
